Acceptable use policy
Last updated October 25, 2026
FormSMTP sends through your own SMTP account, but email from our platform still affects everyone’s trust in it. These rules apply to every account.
Consent
- Only send marketing or newsletter email to people who clearly asked for it, and keep a record of how they signed up.
- Don’t use purchased, rented, scraped or harvested email lists.
- Honour unsubscribes promptly. FormSMTP adds unsubscribe links and headers to scheduled emails; don’t remove or hide them.
- Identify yourself truthfully in the From name and address and in the email. Include a postal address in commercial email where the law requires it.
Never allowed
- Spam, phishing, malware, or links to them.
- Impersonating another person, brand or organization, or forging headers.
- Illegal content, harassment, hate speech, or content that exploits minors.
- Trying to get around rate limits, account limits or other people’s security settings, or probing or attacking the service or other networks through it.
- Using SMTP accounts you aren’t authorized to use.
Bulk email
Free mailbox accounts (Gmail, Outlook and similar) have daily sending limits and aren’t meant for bulk mail. For newsletters and large lists, connect an SMTP service built for it, and set up SPF, DKIM and DMARC for your domain.
Protect your keys
Restrict keys used in web pages to your websites, to fixed recipients and to sensible hourly limits. You’re responsible for email sent with your keys.
Reporting abuse
Report abuse to hello@formsmtp.com with the full message headers. We investigate every report and may suspend accounts without notice when there’s a risk of harm.
