Use Zoho Mail SMTP for your website contact form
Zoho Mail is a popular, inexpensive way to have email on your own domain, and it works great as your website’s SMTP.

1Check your Zoho region
Zoho runs separate data centers. Use the SMTP host that matches the address you log in at:
| You log in at | SMTP host |
|---|---|
| mail.zoho.com | smtp.zoho.com |
| mail.zoho.eu | smtp.zoho.eu |
| mail.zoho.in | smtp.zoho.in |
| mail.zoho.com.au | smtp.zoho.com.au |
Organization (custom domain) accounts may use smtppro.zoho.*; Zoho shows the exact host under Settings → Mail Accounts → IMAP/SMTP.
2Create an app-specific password (if you use 2FA)
With two-factor authentication on, Zoho needs an application-specific password: My Account → Security → App Passwords.
3Enter the settings in FormSMTP
Pick Zoho Mail, then adjust the host for your region. Use port 465 with SSL on, your full address as the username, and the same address as From. Test the connection, then add your form.
Common errors
- 535 Authentication failed: wrong region host, or 2FA is on and you need an app-specific password.
- 553 Relaying disallowed: the From address isn’t an address on your Zoho account. Use your own address.
FAQ
Does Zoho’s free plan support SMTP?
Zoho’s plans and their IMAP/SMTP access change over time. Check your plan’s features in Zoho before you rely on it.
Why did my message land in spam?
Usually the From address and the SMTP account don’t match, or the domain has no SPF/DKIM records. Send from the address you log in with, and check the Deliverability panel in FormSMTP’s Settings.
