GoDaddy email SMTP settings for a website contact form

GoDaddy sells more than one kind of email, and they don’t share SMTP settings. Find out which one you have, then use the matching settings below.

Which GoDaddy email do you have?

The product name is listed in your GoDaddy account, and GoDaddy’s help articles say which product they apply to. If you read your mail in Outlook on the web, you have Microsoft 365. If you have an older GoDaddy email plan that isn’t in this table, look up its settings in GoDaddy’s Help Center for that product; we haven’t listed it because we couldn’t confirm its settings against a current GoDaddy page.

Titan’s own help pages list smtp.titan.email, but they also say mailboxes on GoDaddy-managed domains should follow GoDaddy’s settings. With a GoDaddy mailbox, use smtpout.secureserver.net.

GoDaddy allows 500 emails a day over SMTP per mailbox (1,500 a day from webmail), with up to 100 recipients per message. That’s plenty for a contact form. For newsletters, connect a sending service such as Amazon SES or Brevo instead.

Microsoft 365 from GoDaddy

SMTP Authentication has to be on for the mailbox your website sends from. An admin can turn it on:

  1. Sign in to the Email & Office Dashboard with your GoDaddy username and password.
  2. Select Manage next to the user.
  3. Scroll to Account information and select Advanced Settings.
  4. Turn on SMTP Authentication and select Continue.

GoDaddy recommends enabling it only for accounts that need it, so a dedicated mailbox such as website@yourdomain.com is a good choice. If your organization uses security defaults, turning this on disables them. With multi-factor authentication on, sign in with an app password instead of the mailbox password.

In FormSMTP, pick the Outlook / Microsoft 365 provider so the host and port fill in:

ProviderOutlook / Microsoft 365
Hostsmtp.office365.com
Port587 with SSL off (STARTTLS)
UsernameThe mailbox’s full email address
PasswordThe mailbox password, or an app password if MFA is on
From emailThe same address

Microsoft 365 from GoDaddy runs on Microsoft’s Exchange Online, so Microsoft’s plans for password-based SMTP apply to it too: it’s due to be turned off by default at the end of December 2026. The Microsoft 365 guide has the timeline, and SMTP AUTH disabled in Microsoft 365 covers the fix when it’s off.

Common errors

  • 535 authentication failed on smtpout.secureserver.net: the username isn’t the full address, or you used your GoDaddy account password instead of the mailbox password.
  • Authentication fails on smtp.titan.email with a GoDaddy mailbox: wrong server. Use smtpout.secureserver.net.
  • 535 5.7.139 Authentication unsuccessful, SmtpClientAuthentication is disabled for the Tenant: SMTP Authentication is off. Turn it on in the Email & Office Dashboard as above.
  • 550 5.7.60 Client does not have permissions to send as this sender: the From address isn’t the Microsoft 365 mailbox you signed in with.
  • Sending stops partway through the day: a Professional Email mailbox reached 500 SMTP messages. The count resets the next day.

FAQ

What is GoDaddy’s SMTP server?

For Professional Email powered by Titan, it’s smtpout.secureserver.net on port 465 with SSL. For Microsoft 365 from GoDaddy, it’s smtp.office365.com on port 587 with STARTTLS.

How many emails can I send with GoDaddy Professional Email?

GoDaddy lists 500 messages a day over SMTP per mailbox, 1,500 a day from webmail, and up to 100 recipients per message.

Why doesn’t my GoDaddy Microsoft 365 mailbox accept the password?

SMTP Authentication is probably off for that user. An admin can turn it on in the Email & Office Dashboard under Manage, then Advanced Settings. With MFA on, use an app password.

Why do my messages land in spam?

Usually the From address isn’t on a domain you’ve verified with the provider, or the domain has no SPF and DKIM records. Verify the domain, send from an address on it, and check the Deliverability panel in FormSMTP’s Settings.
